MATCHING ART SHANGHAI DESIGN CO. LTD. was founded in 2006, and in the same year the designer brand ―MATCHBOX‖ was launched. The brand’s work has been displayed at SHANGHAI FASHION WEEK, Get It Louder, Zhengda Art Museum, Gothenburg FASHION WEEK, and VANCOUVER FASHION WEEK since 2007. The work ―ZHI‖ of the PINWU project ―From Yuhang‖ was awarded the SaloneSatellite Design Report Award in Milan Design Week.

The inspiration of “Xu” comes from a Chinese idiom-lifelike. From On the Equality of Things, by Chuang-Tzu. It describes the lively appearance, indicating that the artistic image is vivid and alive. It only pays attention to the natural expression of design, regardless of what gorgeous design skills are used, in order to determine what is aesthetically pleasing from another angle. It is the feelings of the designer about the process that lead to change in the public’s perception.
