Engraving starts from the "plate", from the selection of raw materials for the plate, as well as the corresponding pretreatment method for the plate, according to the shape, size and thickness required for the final engraving, adjust and stabilize its physical properties to prepare the "plate" to become the engraving "plate".

The presentation form of the layout can also be designed according to the size of the plate and the needs of use, in order to improve the utilization rate of the plate and the efficiency of replication.

Before the official printing, it is often necessary to apply red or blue color on the engraved page first, and then lay paper and brush to check whether the engraved version is wrong. If there is any mistake, repair it in time, and wait for it to be correct before formally painting black ink paper. The reason why this process is called printing is that the text, sidebar, boundary line, elephant trunk, fish tail have been inked on the engraving plate, and then covered with paper. In order to make the calligraphy and painting, column lines, etc. can be printed on the paper, it is necessary to use a moderate soft and hard brown brush or brush to brush the back of the paper, so that the calligraphy and painting, column lines, etc., can be printed.
