The design comes from the signature crack of celadon porcelain from the Southern Song Dynasty, caused by the different shrinkage between clay and glaze. Ancient artisans considered the crack to be an integral feature of decoration rather than a production mistake. I have adapted my own interpretation of this phenomenon by combining porcelain pieces. Every piece can be used as a cake plate or dessert plate or a fruit plate after being combined.
