Christoph John is a product designer working as a design partner at the PINWU design studio in Hangzhou. He has a degree in product–furniture design from the University of Applied Arts in Schneeberg (FH) as well as a master degree in car design from the Domus Academy in Milan. Before his arrival at PINWU in 2010, he gained professional experience working as a designer in Finland and Italy at several design companies, including Bonetto design studio and Changed design.

“The Lake” installation symbolises an existing scenery at Yuhang countryside, Hangzhou, China. A number of metal woven patterns, a mirror and metal frames which represent Robam kitchen appliances, are illustrating a simple natural circle of elements. 
All woven elements are made by local Yuhang villagers. Every decorative object will be transformed into a product which enriches living interiors. “ The Lake” installation is the beginning of an alternative work perspective for the local people living around the lake. Robam is supporting them towards a healthier and sustainable work and lifestyle.
