It is Inspired by the traditional bamboo hanger of the south China countryside. From the research of Datong village in Zhejiang province, the villagers like to use the branches of bamboo as hangers; a rack for drying clothes, fish and vegetables in the sun or cutting it of and using it as a single hook. The Datong village has also been engaged in the production of Chinese handmade paper for at least 500 years, the workers and their families have lived with handmade paper since they were born, so paper has always been an impressive part in their memory and the village history. In this piece of work, the combination of fish and rice is a symbol meaning satisfied living condition in south China culture. This work would like to present a natural and simple lifestyle of the villagers through this symbol, which uses the elements in their everyday life like handmade paper and bamboo hanger, to recreate a natural moment in their long history narrative.
