Launched in Paris in 2011, Atelier Murmur still produces fresh ideas. Interacting with the natural surroundings, modern-meets-nomadic living, the contact of ceramics and other materials... every little moment of life can become part of our creation. In the spring of 2012, Atelier Murmur found her new nest in the tranquil and leafy tea tree valleys of Hangzhou. When the mood strikes us, we might be back in Paris, or in Marseille, or on the road of self-defining elsewhere.

The theme of this year’s exhibition is "Paper”. We choose a process with a related rubbing technique. “Rubbing” is a type of mono print, a one-time-only printing. Different from most other printing techniques, each printed work of rubbing is one of a kind. We use a silk dabber, traditional Chinese paper, and our own mineral pigment ink along with other tools to print these natural fragments. Then we preserve these unique shapes on porcelain pieces. In its own way, ceramic can record the past.
